Join Smithsonian staff for a close look at two new art education resources highlighting the work of tapestry artist D. Y. Begay and multidisciplinary artist JeLrey Gibson. Each Artist Spotlight resource features K–12 lesson plans, artist interviews, artist bios, galleries of work, and curatorial commentary. The session will feature testimonials from New Mexico and Oregon teachers who developed content in collaboration with the Smithsonian for JeLrey Gibson’s Venice Biennale 2024 exhibitions. Teachers from New Mexico and Oregon, who collaborated with the Smithsonian to develop content using artworks from JeLrey Gibson’s Venice Biennale 2024 exhibitions, will share their experiences.
