In this webcast, participants will explore data visualization strategies within K-12, higher education, and research practices. Presenters will define data visualization and provide a practical guide to utilizing data visualization within art education pedagogy and research through vibrant, innovative examples derived from students and scholarly practice. Expanding beyond the traditional boundaries of art education, this presentation includes interdisciplinary data visualization applications, such as integration through science, world history and culture, and the health humanities. Exploring various approaches to data visualization, the webcast draws from artistic practices across a broad array of mediums, from drawing and painting to sculpture and research applications such as mapping. Critically, the webcast examines the visualization of information as a tool to empower students through social activism.
